Louisiana Passport is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history, culture, food, music, travel, traditions, and people of Louisiana. Our mission is to educate, inform, and celebrate the state's unique heritage—not to engage in political advocacy or commentary.
Our Editorial Focus
Louisiana Passport does not publish opinion pieces, editorials, endorsements, or commentary that support or oppose political parties, candidates for public office, elected officials, legislation, ballot measures, government policies, or political campaigns.
As a matter of editorial policy, Louisiana Passport does not publish content regarding current political events, political officeholders acting in their official capacities, elections, legislative debates, or public policy disputes, except when such information is necessary to explain historical context or the lasting impact of historical events.
Historical Coverage
Politics has played an important role in Louisiana's history, and historical political topics may be covered when they are relevant to understanding the state's past. Articles discussing governors, legislators, elections, political movements, laws, or government actions are presented solely for educational and historical purposes.
Our goal is to provide factual, well-researched historical information rather than political analysis or advocacy. Coverage of historical events or public figures should not be interpreted as an endorsement of, or opposition to, any modern political position, organization, or individual.
Political Advertising
Louisiana Passport maintains a strict nonpartisan advertising policy.
We do not accept, publish, display, or promote political advertisements of any kind and will not do so in the future. This includes, but is not limited to:
Advertisements for political candidates or elected officials.
Political party advertisements.
Campaign committees or political action committee (PAC) advertisements.
Ballot measure or referendum advertising.
Advertisements advocating for or against legislation or public policy.
Political fundraising or donation requests.
Election-related advertising.
Sponsored political content or native advertising with a political purpose.
Louisiana Passport reserves the right to reject any advertisement that, in our sole judgment, contains political messaging, promotes a political agenda, or could reasonably be perceived as political advocacy, regardless of how it is labeled or presented.
Article Submissions
Louisiana Passport does not accept articles, guest posts, or other submissions that:
Advocate for or against a political candidate, elected official, or political party.
Promote or oppose legislation, public policy, or government initiatives.
Encourage political activism, campaigning, or fundraising.
Contain partisan opinions or political commentary.
Focus primarily on current political controversies, elections, or legislative matters.
Are intended to influence public opinion on political issues.
Submissions that do not comply with this policy may be declined without further review.
Reader Comments
If reader comments are permitted, Louisiana Passport reserves the right to edit, moderate, restrict, or remove comments that contain:
Political advocacy or campaign messaging.
Partisan arguments or political debates.
Personal attacks or harassment.
False or misleading information.
Offensive, inflammatory, or inappropriate content.
Spam or promotional material.
Editorial Discretion
Louisiana Passport reserves the exclusive right to determine whether any article, submission, advertisement, comment, photograph, or other content falls within the scope of this policy. All editorial and advertising decisions are final.
